Renovation Resources: Checklists and Where to Verify Things Yourself

The official sources we cite, and the checks you can run without asking anyone.

Verify our registration yourself

HDB publishes its Directory of Renovation Contractors as an open dataset on data.gov.sg, searchable by company name or UEN. Searching UEN 201722629H returns NOBLE INTERIOR DESIGN PTE. LTD. with DRC Ref HB-12-5230A. That is a government record rather than a claim on a company website, which is the point: search the dataset.

The official pages worth bookmarking

HDB's renovation guide on MyNiceHome covers permitted hours and what needs a permit. HDB's Directory of Renovation Contractors explains registration and the demerit point system. CASE sets out what CaseTrust accreditation obliges a business to do.

A short pre-signing checklist

Confirm the contractor is in the DRC and note the reference number. Confirm every quotation line says supply, install, or supply-and-install. Confirm the deposit and the milestone schedule in writing. Confirm who applies for the permit. Confirm when the water ponding test happens and ask to be told.

A short during-works checklist

Photograph every open chase and every pipe run before it is covered, with a tape measure in frame. Attend the ponding test. Check the access panel positions against the drawing. Keep variations in writing before the work is done, not after.

Tips we give every client

Decide the scope before the style; the scope is what the money follows. Fix the electrical layout after the furniture layout, never before. And treat any quotation that will not itemise supply versus install as incomplete rather than cheap.

Tell us the flat and when you get the keys.

You will get a written quotation with every line spelled out. Take it and compare it with anyone.
